Mr Hon is awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) for his outstanding contributions

Chief Executive Carrie Lam presented honours and awards to 331 recipients at the 2017 Honours & Awards Presentation Ceremony at Government House today. The Gold Medal for Bravery was posthumously awarded to Principal Fireman Yau Siu-ming who died in a rescue operation in Ma On Shan.


June 30 2017, 331 recipients at the 2017 Honours & Awards Presentation Ceremony at Government House. Twelve people were awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal, Twenty-five people received the Gold Bauhinia Star, One Gold Medal for Bravery (for the sacrifices), 35 the Silver Bauhinia Star, Eleven people were awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for Disciplined Services & the Independent Commission Against Corruption, 66 the Bronze Bauhinia Star, and nine people received the Bronze Medal for Bravery. 


Furthermore, 45 the Meritorious Service Medal for Disciplined Services & the ICAC, Sixty-three people received the Medal of Honour, 5 the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service, and 19 the Chief Executive's Commendation for Government/Public Service.


Twelve people were awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal. They are the Chief Secretary for Administration Matthew Cheung, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong Paul Chan, Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong Rimsky Yuen, Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of The Hongkong Laura Cha, chairman of the Council of the University of Hong Kong Arthur Li, Member of the HKSAR Executive Council Fanny Law, unofficial member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong Ip Kwok-him, Chairman of Hong Kong-based Shui On Group Vincent Lo, Hong Kong billionaire entrepreneur Henry Cheng, Tai Tak-fung, Jack So and Ronnie Chan, former Secretary for Education in the Hong Kong Government Eddie Ng, Secretary for Food and Health of Hong Kong Ko Wing-man, 2012 Hong Kong's first cycling third-ever Olympic medal winner Lee Wai Sze etc. political, business and sports elites.

Mr HON is awarded the BBS for his outstanding contributions to the support service for the underprivileged groups, including new arrivals, ethnic minorities, elderlies and low-income families, to help them integrate into the society.
